Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Coding and Sleeping

It's hard to say with the WiFi what's going on, it can be so many things.

You might want to try to make sure that MAC filtering isn't enabled on the router.

If you can, disable security on the router temporarily and see if it will connect.

Turn on broadcasting the SSID of the network if that is turned off. I know turning it off is recommended for security, but I have seen several connection problems with it turned off. I rely on encryption (WEP, WPA etc...) and MAC filtering and two layers seems like enough.

Make sure it's connecting to the right network. I'm seen that be a problem too, someone having all sorts of problems and then realizing they were trying to connect to the neighbor's network.

Thanks for all the U-Verse beta, folks. I think I will have to remain chaste and just get internet and phone. Can't afford fancy tv service now also. I do still have a digital-analog converter box, which I can probably rig again in-line with my Series 2 Tivo and get some SD use out of the Tivo.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Suffice it to say, the birthday gift arrived late, but arrived, and Amazon did refund nearly my entire purchase price of the items - I think it was because I am a Prime member and this was marked as a gift.

I'm kind of surprised by it all. But I must admit that this is one of the best customer service experience I have ever had.

That's awesome, le nubian! I have had...inconsistent customer service with Amazon.

Are there any PowerPoint mavens here? Is there a way to set the slide to advance after your last animation finishes? I can only see options for advancing On Mouse Click and Automatically After X Seconds.

Ooh, never mind, I think I figured out a better way to do it. I am awesome.

ION, Don't Hit F1 in Windows If a Web Site Asks You To

Microsoft has announced a scripting vulnerability affecting Windows 2000, XP, and Server 2003 users using Internet Explorer. A dialog pop-up that convinces the user to hit F1, the commonly known "Help" button, could then run code on the machine, which would lead to, well, all kinds of unfortunate things. A patch will arrive, but in the meantime, let no web site direct you to call for help.

They must be rolling out something that screws it up, because it just stopped working for me.
