I caught her on a park bench, making out with a *chaos* demon! Have you ever seen a chaos demon? They're all slime and antlers.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Well, I've got phplist up and running. I still have some config stuff to do.

But the big problem is that their attachment function is still experimental, and I don't quite have it working the way I'd like. The html version (with a smaller attachment, must still check into file size limits on the server) goes fine, with the attachment, well, attached. But the text version sends a link instead, and that link is wonky. I don't have the attachment repository configured correctly somehow.

Anyway, I think I'm going to call it a day and try to wrangle with it some more tomorrow. But overall I'm pleased at having gotten it up and configured. And I can do text based stuff right this very minute if I so chose.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

so, I am an amazon prime customer and I purchased a gift from there and it was scheduled to be delivered today. apparently there was a delivery issue and it will be delivered (I think and hope) on Monday.

I had it gift wrapped and had a message included. The gift wrap was $4 but the shipping was free because I'm a prime customer. I should note that this order was well above $200.

Amazon sent me an apology saying that they will refund my shipping because of their shipping error and that the gift will arrive late.

Several hours later, I received a notice from Amazon that they are refunding MY ENTIRE ORDER because of the late shipping.

Questions for the group:

a) I am cautiously happy, but I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop. I wonder if the item will arrive at all (despite the fact that the tracking info indicates the package is in my state ready for delivery on Monday). Should I be worried?

b) Ha this happened to anyone here that Amazon would refund an entire order - of this price?

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Does anyone know if AppleCare will replace a bulging (but otherwise normal) removable battery in my MacBook Pro?

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

So, my iPod was playing in its docking station and suddenly stopped. A surge maybe? I'm not sure, but I checked the plugs and the docking station seems to be working now. The iPod won't totally light up, but I can still see the screen somewhat and it is showing as playing, but I can't pause it or turn it off. Basically, it seems frozen halfway through the song. Ideas?

ETA: And iTunes is not recognizing that it's connected to the computer.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

There is a way to force an iPod to shut down. The method depends on the iPod model and version - googling should provide the answer.

And it did! I was worried it was more than just frozen, but I guess not.

Yeah, they lock up from time to time. Except for my iPod touch, which locked up all the time, before the display died.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Bah. Tivo is willing to replace my rebooting machine, but they are not paying for shipping, they are not waiving the restocking fee, and the supervisor I spoke to on the phone was a total dick about it.

I just hope we get the new one before the Oscars on Sunday.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I have an eepc, and for some reason some of the function keys do not work (as well as the backspace key). Somehow I have turned the brightness all the way down, but I cannot turn it back up. The f6 key does not work.

Reading around, I think I can fix the brightness in the BIOS, ut I can't figure out how to get there, especially since my f2 key also seems not to be working. Anthing that you can suggest?
