Well some friends of Buffy played a funny joke and they took her stuff and now she wants us to help get it back from her friends who sleep all day and have no tans.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

I was talking to her while reading these suggestions. She can copy individual files, so I can try to do a file by file in the morning. I am going to have to try to migrate her email which is going to be a pain.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

outlook express in her old computer. Don't know what on the Mac, but I'm betting whatever the default was. In a PC to PC migration, I'd simply open her old pst file and pull over her old emails and contacts. I suspect something like that would work in the Mac, subject to my complete ignorance of Macs.

you might have to do some googling, but I think you need to export the outlook express file into something then move it over.

All is well that ends in pizza.

All I want to do is copy the windows hard drive onto a folder on the mac. But I want a real folder, so I can disconnect the windows hard drive and still have the files.

Hold down the option key when dragging the drive icon to the Mac HDD or a folder or even the desktop. A + symbol will show, let go and it copies the whole thing.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I finally upgraded from Firefox 2 to Firefox 3.6! And, what the hell, it...appears to be a better browser. Things load faster, and the website-specific issues I was having (pop-ups on TWoP, hanging scripts on io9 and other pages) have disappeared!

I'm a little annoyed that AutoCopy doesn't seem to work anymore. The ClickCutter AutoCopy extension is somewhat annoying and mildly obnoxious.

And, hallelujah, the Flash plug-ins remained intact, so I am free to watch YouTube videos at work, unlike Michael Scott.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

So I bought the Virgin wireless broadband thingie for my laptop. I'll let y'all know how it works.

Punishingly Intricate

Another Word 2007 question, I cannot figure out how to insert the total number of pages as in Page # of #. It used to be on the handy header/footer toolbar. I can figure out how to insert and format the page number but not the total pages.

After working with Word 2007 for 4 months, I said "fuck it" and I moved over to a Mac. I am someone who found it so objectionable that I never adapted. I hope you find it easier than I did.

Oh how I wish that were an option. The Government wants me to be in pain.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

lisah, is it under the option called "Quick Parts"? I haven't used that, but it looks like you can go to Fields, DocProperty, and then Pages.

(Quick Parts? WTH, Word?)
