ita, I think still have my cordless phone from before I got my landline taken out, and I am pretty sure it meets all your requirements. Want me to dig it out of the give away pile and see?

Got a question about technology? Ask it here. Discussion of hardware, software, TiVos, multi-region DVDs, Windows, Macs, LINUX, hand-helds, iPods, anything tech related. Better than any helpdesk!
Perkins, that would be great!
I'm back chatting with Norton virus folks about this darned computer. After paying $$ for their program, it seems turning off the firewall and turning off the anti-virus scanning means I can hit the internet. Nifty. Except I WANT a firewall and I WANT anti-virus scanning.
While there may be negative opinions about Norton, I have already spent my money there and I don't want to invest anymore.
Would you consider free options?
Yes, ita. If none of what they are trying to do works. Plus they better refund me. But the bottom line is this computer needs some teenager proof (if there is such a thing) protection.
AVG was pretty good for viruses, but I'm not sure if it works with Windows 7.
Suzi,
do you want parental controls?
The system is XP and YES on the parental controls on top of virus protection.
I've found the free AVG to be pretty frustrating, just for the record. I may go try the Microsoft version now.
Though it can take a bit to set up you can use Microsoft Live to do parental controls for Internet access.
The filters aren't very flexible but you can allow and block specific sites as well and you can look at logs and manage allowed and blocked sites remotely.
It is also free.
