Hee. I saw you announce elsewhere, jesse. Are you wondering why you didn't do it long ago?

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Renfield the iPod has developed a weird noise.

Has it started eating flies?

If that made Renfield stop making the funny static-y noise, I would be fine with that. The reset did not seem to take care of the problem. Crap, I'm going to need to save my spending money for a new iPod, aren't I?

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Yeah, now I feel like a jackass. Although I still have the power plugged in.

I'm thinking of upgrading my TIVO and am not sure which service plan to go with. I have a lifetime agreement on the old one and they are offering either $99 a year or $299 for a new lifetime on the new one.

With the way technology is changing, is it worth it to do the lifetime and get value on it over 3 years? Or does the annual fee make more sense?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I went with the lifetime - my first Tivo lasted 6 years (and was still going strong, but it wasn't HD so I replaced it) so the lifetime sub more than paid for itself. I can't see myself having the money to significantly upgrade my AV system again in less than 3 years.

Suzi, I just got a thing for a half price HD tivo, is that what you want to upgrade to?

That is what I'm looking at Vortex. They are offering me an upgrade with $100 off...so it is $149 (plus the service, plus another wireless thingie).

Sure!!! I just looked at my account and I've had the current TIVO for 5 years this Christmas. Wow, hadn't realized I had it that long.
