Question: about, oh 2 hours ago, while running the installation for McAfee I got a message that said, "Please ait while Windows configures McAfee VirusScan Enterprise" and the time remaining said 30 seconds.
Do I need to re-install since it's been hanging for 2 hours?
Try ctrl-shift-esc to bring up the Task Manager and see if it is still running any processes?
I mean - when I check processes - there are many that are running (55).
Anything specific to McAfee? There may be a lot of processes listed, but probably few that are very active, using much % of system resources.
Under the applications tab, is the McAfee installer showing as "not responding," or at all?
You might want to Ctl-Tab through your application, in case there's an open dialog box (that you have to answer) under something.
It finally cleared out. Whew.
I don't know what it was waiting for.
It was coyly waiting for you to make the first move?
Okay, so I caved to the peer pressure of the subway and the sad fact that I played with a Palm Pre (feels kind of like a children's toy, though the OS is lovely) and apparently T-Mobile's new Android offering is second-rate and bought an iPhone tonight.
16GB, 3GS.
What apps should I download? I don't really need any stuff for power users (no news readers, VNC clients, or SSH programs) or social networkers (don't care about facebook mobile or any twitter programmers) and have decided to forego instant messaging, but am interested in exploring other departments.
Also, do most people use the built-in mail for Gmail usage, stick with the web interface, or use another app?
