Now I did a job. I got nothing but trouble since I did it, not to mention more than a few unkind words as regard to my character so let me make this abundantly clear. I do the job. And then I get paid.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Do they look like Legolas? We can work something out.

Hey. New board.

I'm running a new channel scan in light of Friday's Official Analog Shutoff, but my TV claims it has found 42 analog channels so far (it hasn't started the digital scan yet).

What the what?

All is well that ends in pizza.

They might not be broadcasting anything. Blank channels.

Or else they are engaging in voluntary Analog Nightlight.

From Slashdot:

Local stations may participate in the voluntary 'Analog nightlight' services in which TV stations agree to keep an analog signal turned on in addition to their digital signals to provide information about the DTV transition and to notify unprepared TV viewers of emergencies, such as hurricanes."

I think there is a time limit, though, as new uses are coming for the bandwidth.

My Safari just upgraded to 4.0.

Hmmm.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Daniel, I actually like it, except for the relocation of the refresh button. I get a HUGE kick out of the "Show Top Sites" grid. Mine are very predictable (b.org, LiveJournal, Lolcats, the Cincinnati Library, etc.).

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Opera keeps crashing on me. I may be switching to Safari instead. Putting up with Opera is just silly. But I have loved it for years.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Currently I'm Firefox's bitch -- it's all those themes and handy addons that have me flopping over and baring my throat.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I agree. apparently 3.5 is awesome with its features, but I'm not diving in until I'm sure it is stable and has all the add-ons I want.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Opera on Vista is stable, but Vista keeps crashing on me. Leopard is staying up for long periods, but Opera just can't. I can't win.

The add-ons and themes irritate me. Opera never needed those for me. It did everything I wanted, and I never had to go looking and gluing things on to make it better.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Isn't there a new Opera coming out in a few days?

eta: And then there's this Opera mystery: Next Week, Opera Claims It Will “Reinvent The Web”

We’ve heard the phrase ‘reinventing the web’ too many times already, so we’re wary of Opera’s claims, but this made us curious anyhow. The browser maker has just unveiled Opera 10 in beta, so it could be taking the wraps off the product and taking it public rather quickly. Or it could be something entirely different.

Opera users don’t seem to know what’s going on either.
