Gunn: The final score can't be rigged. I don't care how many players you grease, that last shot always comes up a question mark. But here's the thing. You never know when you're taking it. It could be when you're duking it out with the Legion of Doom, or just crossing the street deciding where to have brunch. So you just treat it like it was up to you—the world in balance—'cause you never know when it is.

“Not dead yet!”

It's taking its time, but it appears to be saving as mp4 files. I hate being such a computer idjit sometimes. Oh, and Tep, I'm using OS 10.5.5 right now.

That which does not kill you should RUN

I'm using OS 10.5.5 right now.

I'm thisclose to getting a MacBook Pro (partly b/c if you buy it w/an education discount -- my mom works at a high school -- you get a free iPod Touch), but the only thing holding me back is not wanting to upgrade most of the software I use for my freelance jobs (Quark XPress, Photoshop CS). The versions are *just* old enough that they don't play well with Leopard (we've had problems at work with Leopard and older software versions), and I just don't want to deal with it right now.

I want one of the new MacBook Pros in the worst way! I'd really like to have the faster speed and greater memory. (I am SOOOO Tim Taylor-- I grunt and everything.) I think I'll treat myself if I sell a book.

Okay, it's "muxing" whatever that is.

Okay, I goobered, which was to be expected. It copied it as a movie to iTunes when all I wanted were the songs. Huh. What did I do wrong?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

hmm. I just opened Handbrake and it doesn't look like there is an option to just extract the audio.

Found this: [link]

“Not dead yet!”

Well, I've got an MP3-- but it downloaded the whole thing in one chunk instead of as separate tracks. Hm...

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I need a cheapish laptop soon, and I'm looking at a $600 Dell 1545 T4200 at Costco. [link] Is this a bad buy? It's got a 15 in. screen, 4gb RAM, 500gb 5400 rpm hard drive, and 4-cell battery. Comes with Vista and Works-- I figure Windows 7 will just drive up the price and I have access to Word. Does anyone know any better laptops for the price?

If I have a DVD of a concert, is there any way I can download/extract the audio so I can load it as an iTunes playlist?
It's a realtime thing, not an extract thing, but have you tried Audio Hijack: [link]

If you want longer than 10 minutes at a time, you need to pay for the full version (I think it's still like that). But if it's a concert DVD, you can hijack each song. It's a bit more pain in the butt, but, it's an option.

Barb,

If you have an mp3, I would recommend you now go to garageband and break it up.
