I couldn't believe it the first twenty times you told us, but it's starting to sink in now.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I'm traveling a lot, and taking the netbook instead of my full-sized laptop made a world of difference to my shoulders last week. If I didn't have my current travel plans, I probably wouldn't have bothered. But it has been fun. This is the first laptop I've ever had where a stranger asked about it.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

This is the first laptop I've ever had where a stranger asked about it.

I'm still amused that my Acer Aspire One attracted a crowd of Apple Store employees....

How are you me? You need to stop that. Only I can be me. ~Kara

In more external topics, does anyone have any recs for a site with netbook skins?

Gelaskins is quite popular: [link]

But Skinit says they're the most popular: [link]

If I'm understanding properly, at Skinit you can upload an original graphic, whereas Gelaskin doesn't really allow that unless you buy 50 at a time.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

I have another rec for a site that lets you upload custom graphics. Hold on...

Aha. [link]

Yay! I just ordered this one:

I may try putting together a custom one at some point, though, so I'll be bookmarking the others. Thanks!

The status is NOT quo.

Omnis, generally regarding picture uploads at F2F, people just request that we not upload publically. We tend to create Flikr friendslocks and such so those of us with jobs such as teaching don't end up with incriminating pics accessible by colleagues or students.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

We have a new poster at work with one of those 3d barcodes. How does it work? Do you have to have an iphone to read it? If so, is there an app you need to download?

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

it depends on the phone: quite a few phones have bar code readers - it depends on the model of the phone. usually you can search for phone model and bar code reader and get the software program.

I have a phone with Symbian software and I have a bar code reader, for example.

The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know.

Laga, which kind of bar code or matrix code? Scroll to the bottom of this wikipedia article for examples.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

Does anyone have third party earphones for their iPhone that they like?
