Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

How's your new MacBook Pro, tommyrot?

I likes it! I spent yesterday recopying my 120 gig of iTunes stuff, as the original setup didn't get it all from my MacBook.

Now I gotta install some virtualization software, as so far I've come nowhere near to using its potential (besides enjoying the big and pretty screen).

This is only the second computer I've bought that I've paid more than, say, $1200 for. I bought a loaded Gateway (166 mhz Pentium MMX!) about 12 years ago that was, I dunno - $2500 or $3000.

Oh, do I need a special Apple-only Firewire cable/adapter for my MacBook Pro?

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

It's a Firewire 800 connection, which is different than regular Firewire.

Oh. Thanks.

Is Firewire 800 backwards-compatible with regular Firewire devices?

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Think the search market is saturated? Microsoft doesn't. Lifehacker discusses bing.com.

Which reminds me--what settings could be set in OS X to make web sites think I'm in Australia? My PC seems to be in the US just fine.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I heard that Wikipedia has banned the Scientologists from editing their entries - anyone know if this is true or just one of those urban legends?

It's true.
