Mr. Scola’s wardrobe by Botany 500

Amazon acquires Comixology.

I hate late capitalism.

"...and then Legolas and the Hulk destroy the entire Greek army." - Penny Arcade

Lumberjanes is pretty good, pretty Gingerhazy. The only thing is, I'm not sure the in media res thing works when you've got five main characters showing up all at once, plus at least two supporting characters.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Uh, what the fuck is going on with DC? [link]

That's...okay, I realize I'm bagging on it without ever giving it a shot, but -- that is some crazy shit going on there.

Just more of the same, sadly.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Comixology had a giveaway a few weeks ago, and I grabbed the first TPB of Locke and Key, and I really enjoyed it. The writing was compelling, but more importantly I am in love with the art. The stylistic stamp on it combined with the angles and composition had me hooked before the first issue was completed. I am also entirely in envy of the palette.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I need to read that at some point. I read a FCBD issue once and had no idea what the hell was going on, but obvs I should give the first TPB a try.

I'm almost done with the Brubaker run of Captain America. I'm reading Man Out of Time and Truth: Red, White, and Black afterward, and then Grant Morrison's Animal Man.

I picked up the Rat Queens trade this week. Looking forward to checking that one out.

Everyone's reading Sex Criminals, right? It's amazing.

Amazon tells me that the TPB is out on the 29th. I'll check it out then.

Cool! It's out in comic book stores now, though. Except mine because Diamond didn't ship it because apparently that happens all the time.

I wonder whether publishers look at first-week sales for both comic book stores and traditional bookstores separately, since the former get the book first but many people wait a couple weeks for the Amazon release. I assume the NYT Bestseller list goes off the latter release date.
