I think my fan-wank is that in Season 3, it would have turned out that Wally was pulled into the Speed Force and would have returned at his peak comicbook power level.

It should be noted that Weisman has shown nothing but contempt for the concept of the Speed Force. Which doesn't mean that Wally isn't alive; he could have been shot through time or something.
Well, I can understand some of his problem with the Speed Force. While I'm okay with the concept (and something is necessary to explain how the various Flashes don't incinerate themselves or otherwise suffer grievous injury when moving at the speeds they do) writers have turned it into an anything power. Looking into it, though, he seems to think it's silly in general.
Oh, well. We haven't been presented with anything in the actual show that says it doesn't exist, so I'm going to stick with my happy denial for now.
