Roy's a CLONE?
Yeah, that would be another major plot point you missed out on with Season 1. Forgot about that one. I apologize.
But as for the Scarab? Just wait.

There's some rumors flying around that DC has lost the rights to the Milestone characters and that's the reason behind the last-minute yank, but I can't find anything concrete either way.
I did find someone ranting about how greedy the Siegel family is for fighting with DC about the Superman rights. @@
Here's a summary of all the rumors: [link]
To me, the January return date suggests that it was done to appease advertisers, who do most of their big buys leading up to Christmas.
Of course, the REAL reason is [link]
Related to your last link: [link] (ignore the part where she's having a conversation with a talking car [and dating its "Dad" is not dating a car -- it's a human, who is the "Dad" by virtue of building UltraCar]).
Heh. After I posted there was a site that was claiming the episode was pulled because Dan Didio hates Stephanie Brown.
Brandon V. responded on twitter to a question about whether the Milestone characters need to be written out that they finished writing Season 2 awhile back. He also claims he hasn't heard any reason for the hiatus.
The really weird thing, if the rumor it's true, is Static hasn't even been identified as such. He's just a dreadlocked kid with no lines and no name so far.
Okay. Having read the collected rumors in the first link: wow. All that put together does not spell good things for the future of the show. Hopefully things are a bit better than that.
I broke out the DVDs and re-watched the first 8 YJ episodes this weekend. I forgot how much fun the early episodes are.
Also, lots of little things that stand out now.
Roy, on about to enter the Hall of Justice for the first time: "I was born for this."
Several partial references to the show "Hello, Megan"
A cameo of Lagoon Boy in Atlantis.
Guardian having the same voice as Roy.
Cadmus deciding to replace the captured sidekicks with clones.
Black Manta scolding Aqualad on his choices.
Knowing who the Light are now, I can identify some of them when they're speaking or their outline is on-screen.
I also forgot that Miss M couldn't density shift in the beginning. (Also Wally's mad scrabble for a handhold after running halfway up the outside wall of Cadmus.)
Roy, on about to enter the Hall of Justice for the first time: "I was born for this."
Real Roy, or clone Roy?
Clone Roy.
I'm trying to remember, but I don't know if we see real Roy at all in season 1.
Nope, it's all clone!Roy in Season 1, except for a glimpse of icicle!Roy in the last episode. Remember that Wally said that he never knew the real Roy during Red Arrow's intervention.
