Congratulations to the class of 1999. You all proved more or less adequate.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Is Promethea all collected in one book, perchance? I'd like to read that myself.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I think it's collected into several trades; the initial series ran 32 issues.

For horror: 30 Days of Night (the original). Wormwood: Gentleman Corpse is horror/comedy. Both are in TPB. I was gonna recommend the Dark Horse Book of Hauntings but Beasts of Burden probably covers that.

If she's not generally interested in superheroes, I wouldn't recommend Watchmen. I mean, unless you want to ensure that she stays uninterested in them.

Ha, Strega! Well, her mom will probably like Watchmen, anyway. I'll look at the others as well.

Thanks, Matt.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

Consuela, what's Digger?

[link]

Digger is the story of a Wombat who got lost, and an elephant-headed god, and a spirit child, and a hyena without a name, and skin lizards of surprising endearingness, and a quest, and a sacrifice, and a homecoming. It's really really splendid, and I should probably buy the novels--I read it on the website.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

This makes me laugh and laugh (and feel a little guilty about laughing): [link]

I can only hope the guy made that bad of a costume on purpose.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

He is entirely validated by that GIF, and he should be proud of what he's achieved.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Haaaa, that was great!

Also, hey, Strega, remember that time I called you from my comic book store for recommendations on Warren Ellis books and you suggested RED or Desolation Jones and I went with the latter? I made the right choice.

I'm loving Planetary, though.

Okay. I feel less guilty about laughing now. That was cute.
