Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

So DC is on a pretty unending rollercoaster of fail right now (basically, only bringing back Blue Beetle seems to be good), but Marvel is doing something interesting with their Ultimate line. Peter Parker is dead, and the new Spider-Man is black and Hispanic. So, there's that.
