This is so nice. Having everyone together for my birthday. Of course, you could smash in all my toes with a hammer and it will still be the bestest Buffy Birthday Bash in a big long while.

Okay, some Damian highlights...

From Batman #656, Damian meets Bruce.

From #657, Damian meets Tim.

From B&R #9, Damian meets a crazy cloned Bruce. Families, right?

From #12, Damian chats with Mom. Because of "I hope I can be a worthy one."

And from #13, Damian meets the Joker. Because crowbar. (I cannot find this but also in 13: Dick finds out that Damian’s talking to the Joker & freaks out. Gordon’s all, “Oh no, that poor kid! and Dick snaps "It’s the Joker I’m worried about!")

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Thank you! I love him! I love assassin kids. Man, my childhood was wasted.

I loaned out my copy of Batman & Son, but I'm sure there's other fun stuff in it.

And aha -- I think Colin must be Colin Wilkes, AKA "Abuse." Which naturally led to this:

Robin gave Colin the Cycle of Abuse, a trike, because he thought Abuse looked stupid walking with his trench coat.

Comics, everybody!

Cycle of Abuse? That hurts.

Okay, I picked up Batman and Son, and the love still runs strong. I also grabbed the first six Batman Incorporated, because I just felt like getting my hands wet with a series, and I have no sense. There's a good reason I've stopped collecting comics so many times.

Talking of Colin, the first thing I saw when I walked into the store was a Eureka comic book, and my mind blew and remained blown for a few minutes. Very surreal.

Heh. I can only imagine. Much as I augaddaugaddaued to your "who is Colin?"

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Has everyone read Daytripper ? Because it is beautiful and gorgeous.

I have! And yes.

I don't know how to talk about it but there was a lot of hype and I was trying not to build it up in my head before I read it and it turns out that it's great and lovely and moving. And I want to reread it except I have this huge pile of books & comics to read for the first time before I can think about rereading anything because I'm terrible.

Yeah, I was hoping not to be disappointed, and it was just so lovely and understated and even though I felt like I didn't really get to KNOW these characters in the span of ten issues, they still felt real in a way.

I also read Nick Spencer's Jimmy Olsen book, which I loved! So much fun, and very clever.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I am very sad I don't own this comic.
