That was awesome, David.
Thanks, Tom. That three issue run of Mister Miracle (7-9) is my all-time favorite Kirby. Big Barda stomping around, knocking over entire buildings to take out bad guys, whipping the Furies into shape. All the fantastic, grotesque Apokolips villains: Dessaad, Granny Goodness, Mad Harriet. And then Scott's escape.
I can't look at Granny Goodness any more without hearing Ed Asner. Best voice casting ever.
If they cast a fluffy blonde for Deena then I'll know it's going to tank.

Oh, that'd work.
Sad news, comic book fans! Comic Relief in Berkeley, the best stocked comic book store I've ever seen, is closed.
There's a sign up saying that the owner of Dark Carnival (an East Bay science fiction bookstore) has bought the stock, though, and is hiring on the staff to open a new store. However, there's no date for it and it's likely it won't be in downtown Berkeley but in the out-of-the-way Claremont area, near Dark Carnival.

That's for real? Someone was saying that and I didn't believe it, since I was just there in January. That's very sad.
I've never been to Dark Carnival.

It's actually a great store. Smallish space with odd off rooms and an upstairs and packed to the ceiling with stock. Disorganized, but in a way I don't mind.
But it's inconveniently located if you don't have a car.

It was not you, but good try! It was someone at my comic book club.
