I used to go to one that was more cluttered and cramped, but then the owner killed his girlfriend in a ritualistic homicide and that was over with.

I hate when that happens!
NO, seriously, that's fucked up! I once bought a pair of earrings at the shop of a famous serial killer the day he got arrested.
Do you still have the earrings?
Yeah. Friends of mine were all suspicious about his clerk going into hiding for a while, and my reaction was "If someone I had an argumentative work relationship with suddenly disappeared with all his books on the occult and his girlfriend turned up in pieces inside a pentagram, people would see J.D. Salinger out and about before me."
No, I got rid of them a while ago. They weren't nearly as interesting as the neckless that a friend had to turn over to the police because it turned out to be made with human bones.

!!!
Note to self: Do not borrow jewelry from quester.
The answer, unfortunately, is no. I've seen worse. Much worse.
I've never seen a comic store that bad, but I've been to gaming shops that were far more depressing (and spent way, WAY too much time in them).
The killer was Bob Berdella. He had the best jewlery shop in the Westport Flea Market. He also had human skulls in the display case. He always claimed they weren't real, but it turns out they were. CREE-PEE! I had friends that lived just down the street from him. Fun times in ole KC!

DUDE.

On the one hand, I am fascinated by jewelry made from human and animal bones. On the other hand, ETHICALLY SOURCED MATERIALS, PEOPLE.
