Giles, if you would like to get by in American society, then you are going to have to follow our traditions. You're the patriarch. You have to host the festivities, or it's all meaningless.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

I forgot to ask about alternate covers. I think I'll have to go back tomorrow and see if they've got any of the dragon covers left (I got the Buffy cover, which is fine, but I like the thought of a dragon.)

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Sail, the dragon cover isn't photo-realistic(ish), like the Buffy-alone one is. It's much more a "drawn" cover. FYI.

Oh, that's fine with me. It all depends on my mood anytime I get a comic as to which one I prefer. I alternated back and forth a lot with the old Buffy comics as to which one I bought.

Remember, remember/the fifth of November/the Gunpowder Treason and Plot/I see no reason/Why Gunpowder Treason/Should ever be forgot.

So the overprint was blown through, faster than they expected, and they are doing a new cover from the reprint. Or altered cover, or something.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

You mean a third cover?

You know, we could experiment and cancel football.

Jon B, it will be the Chen cover without the left side and bottom frame. The art will cover the entire cover.

"...and then Legolas and the Hulk destroy the entire Greek army." - Penny Arcade

Slightly more coherent now--

I liked it. My criterion for media-based books and comics is, "Can I hear the actors saying the lines?" And with this, especially Xander's lines, I definitely could.

Although -- People all over the world are acquiring superpowers at a young age. The comic follows a group of these people and their hangers-on, as they find and train them, either to handle their powers and return to a normal life, or join one of the many teams of senior heroes and fight bad guys. Also, the main team leader has a history of significant others who turn evil, come back from the dead, or both.

Wait -- what was I talking about again?

Also *wf* Warren? *wf*

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Read the first Buffy Season 8, and what everyone else said on missing her something fierce. This may motivate a serious re-watch.

Does anyone else think we're going to have a little...

I'm going with a big "yea" on that, given the Nick Fury banter, which I adored.

Chrismg, on your whitefont, I'm not sure what you're referencing - please to explain.

I think Amy's boyfriend was in the other cell that the General was recoiling from. Hoping it's NOT Oz, but I'd love to see him show up at some point (maybe at the Sunnydale Canyon with a "Huh." as we always wanted.

Where the frell is Willow? It sounds like they've lost contact with her (as opposed to Giles, though I'm curious what's up there as well). Other folks I want APBs on: Faith, Principal McHottie (besides being busy as President of the United States). Hopefully MIA: Kennedy.

As for the Fakeout maybe it's Riley?

runs away

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

I teared up when I opened up Buffy.

Oh, me too, or near enough. It was a very emotional moment!

My friend who runs the local comic book store told me that Buffy outsold every other comic that week (at least in his store), including a major event with Captain America (not sure if I need to be vague about that...). Me, gazing down at Buffy holding the axe: "That's my girl."
