I went to my comic shop, asked for it, and the man said it was sold out. I said, "But you were holding two for me."
He said, "Cynthia?"
I said, "Yes." He took out a little brown bag that already had my name on it, showed me it contained two copies. I said, "Good thing, because I really didn't want to come back down here with a wooden stake."
He laughed. "This is series. Do you want me to reserve two copies for you, each time?"
"Yes. Do I officially have a 'pull', now?"
"What?"
"A pull. Do I now have a pull?"
He laughed. "Yes."
And now I'm home with my preciousssssssssssssssssssssss.
Excuse me while I go lick the bestest
retcon in the world, right here
in the second panel on page 3.
I haven't gotten the comic yet, but I've read page 3. Bestest
retcon in the whole world ever.
Actually made me jump up and down, and I don't do that.
I
already knew about it, Zen. I'm pretty sure that's what made me order two issues instead of one. One to save, one to lick.
*
Oh, I have a nit to pick with Joss. I'm so glad to have a nit to pick with Joss, that I might even lick it.
Buffy is
talking to herself, right after she says, "I miss my home." She then says, "I miss my mom. I miss the gang. And churros. And sex. Great muppety Odin, I miss that sex."
"Great muppety Odin," is a great line to come out of Xander's mouth. Out of Buffy's? Not so much.
But it's okay, because it is here, and it is mine.
sumi,
I'm wondering who Amy's boyfriend is, too. The cheese line cracked me up. Hasn't the military learned they're no match for Buffy Summers?
Does anyone know what a
thricewise is? I mean, is it a term common to some mythology, or something? I'm curious as to who/what did the deed with Dawn.
Great muppety Odin
makes no sense at all. Funny though.
makes no sense at all. Funny though.
Correct, and therefore Cindy is quite right.
I have no idea what a
thricewise is - - want to know. Want to know now.
Want issue 2 NOW.
I was assuming that a
thricewise
is some sort of
witch/warlock/mage/mega-spell-casting dude.
LOVE almost all of it. The Buffy narration/dialogue was spot-on, and the Xander narration/dialogue was spot-on. I want to know where
Giles (and here is some spoiler space so that people can't guess by the length what name is there)
is, though.
I got the dragon cover!
And it's a great line to come out of Joss's mouth. If I were inclined to write RPF (which I'm not), I would definitely have the Joss character say that.
I miss the nits almost as much as the UST, HSQ, and the word-smithing, though. *pets nit*
The cover art
is beautiful. I didn't see one with a dragon. Both of mine are of Buffy, alone, holding the scythe.
Joss had me from, "Hello." The first words are, *
The thing about changing the world... Once you do it, the world's all different.
I love that.
Buffy says there are
1,800 slayers that they've identified, and that 500 are working with them. Those 1,300 leave open a lot of p*tential for interesting stories.
I nearly
cried, when I realized Xander was her Watcher. He's been in training all these years, hasn't he? I don't even know if it clicked that that was the story I was being told, until I saw
sumi's post, above.
Joss is expressing his
feelings about religion and the U.S. military in pure Jossian style. I love how the General describes Buffy as, "Charismatic, uncompromising, and completely destructive."
There's the
pit that used to be Sunnydale. Oh, pit. Hi. Is it Amy that is down there?
I found that part confusing. I mean, I know it's
her at the end, but is that what came up behind the soldier in the pit, too?
"Xander's so stupid when he's right." Oh hi, Buff.
