If you can do so in character. It'd have taken a miracle to non-copout explain her particular insanity. Serum? Fine. Just take her off it and stop fucking with a pretty cool character.

I like the snippets of art in the IGN article. I've seen the full one of Willow somewhere before, and it's gorgeous. I wish I'd saved it somewhere. But almost all of it (i.e. not the most manga-ey one) did a good job of capturing the actors, and in varying styles.
