I saw the sneak of the trailer for Wolverine a little while ago and I'm pretty sure I saw a guy in a trenchcoat chucking cards. Also, if I'm not mistaken, Liev Schreiber is playing Sabretooth.

I just finished Grant Morrison's All-Star Superman, which did not feature Supes saying, "I'm the goddamn Superman." I'm not really a Superman person beyond Smallville, so I wasn't familiar with most of the characters in their comics incarnations. It was a...weird series. Superman has some weird adventures, man. But I liked how cohesive it ended up being, with little things from previous issues popping up later. It was rather clever in that way.

Did he say, "I'm the Gosh Darn Superman"?

No. Nor did anyone pop in and say, "I'm the gosh darn Middleman."

All-Star Superman was an intense little series, out of continuity from the rest of the DC universe, it was written by Grant Morrison, who is infamous for the kind of brilliant, mad ideas that he includes in his series. AS-Superman was an attempt by him to update the larger than life Superman of the Silver Age into something modern audiences could relate to...

Spectacular Spider-Man was actually good this morning. Or maybe it was just that I liked how they handled the symbiote so much better in the cartoon than the film.

I've seen all the episodes of the first season, and am anxiously awaiting the second. I think the series as a whole has been pretty well-written and the action sequences are incredibly well choreographed and animated. I still don't like the actual art style (especially with the way every one's arms and legs make them look like action figures when they're bare) and I don't care for Mary Jane's characterization and voice (she sounds like a 30 year-old smoker and behaves like some 5-10 years older) but otherwise I find it highly enjoyable. The Green Goblin arc is my favorite of the first season. The banter between Goblin and Spidey is fantastic. But the symbiote arc is really good, too, with the way Peter's personality slowly changes as the suit gets more and more control, and then of course the episode that was on this week when he finally breaks free.

Spidey continuity-wise, it's an odd little mix of Classic, Ultimate and movie Spider-man, with its own twists thrown in. I do hope Kenny starts behaving more like his Ulimate counterpart as the series goes on, instead of being the jerky lummox he is now, though part of me thinks Randy Robertson is slated for that role, since he's already the "good guy" among the jocks.

I went on Netflix looking for the '90s series. It looks like they're repackaging it as a series of themes. The Daredevil one is on a very long wait so I moved Green Goblin to the top. The symbiote arc doesn't have a release date yet.

I have a feeling we unfortunately won't be seeing Daredevil in Spectacular Spider-man. I have a suspicion there's some sort of rights issue going on considering they have Tombstone taking the place of The Kingpin in the New York criminal hierarchy (that said, the Tombstone of the show does amuse me) and having memories of how all of Batman's villains ended up ignored in the later seasons of Justice League because WB was planning on using them in "The Batman".
