"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

See, I always think the art is ass, so I didn't really notice a difference.

P-C is me, and even this issue is nowhere near as bad as the Angel:ATF art (at leasts the main artist - I've liked some of the one-shot bits, like Lorne's Day One, or the dream bit at the beginning of the latest).

I gather that we've had a change in artist?

Yes. Isn't it the artist who did Fray?

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

So in addition to the art sucking, we can expect a six month delay until the next issue?

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Isn't it the artist who did Fray?

Yes, Karl Moline. His art was great in Fray. I don't know what happened.

"I've got a gun! I've got a mother-flippin' gun!" - Moss, The IT Crowd

Thing is, peeps, comic artists rarely have a lot of time per page, unless they're a big name and the project will wait for them.

Add to that the extra workload of attempting likenesses many times per page (a herculean feat) and it's no surprise that the art just can't match expectations.

Of course, there are also just plain bad artists, but that's another story.

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Plus, with Fray he was drawing all original characters. There was no need to try and make anyone look like an actual, existing person. Let's hope that he can pick that up quick, it makes my brain hurty to try and decode who is who.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I liked his work on Fray and I think the job of drawing established characters is just much more difficult.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

The DH's aunt died this week. She was someone people in the comics world might know about: [link]

When we lived in NYC, we had Passover seder with them every year. Muriel was an amazing person, who managed to be incredibly competent but still relaxed and great fun to be around. A lovely woman who will be missed by all.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

I saw the news about Muriel this morning, but I had no idea there was a Buffista-in-law connection. My condolences to the family.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I thought that this issue of Buffy was sort of mixed art-wise. Some pages looked great, while others were really bad.
