I really enjoyed the new Buffy, but I thought the art was awful. The faces looked they'd been drawn with a blindfold on for funsies.
Okay, that might have been a little harsh, but still. Didn't like the art one bit.

Have to agree. I loved the story, did not like the art. No one looked like themselves or was impossible to identify. I dislike trying to identify characters solely by content of the dialogue.
eta: Talking about Buffy, but then I realized it could equally be said about Astounshing. I'll give that one more issue to see how I feel.

Oooooo:
Vertigo’s Exterminators series is in development as a Showtime series, with Dexter exec producer Sara Colleton heading it up, according to Hollywood Reporter.
Potentially awesome. And might make up for Vertigo dropping it. Speaking of DC's suckiness....
So did the rumored Preacher HBO series just fade away? Or does it still have legs? Not that I trust Mark Steven Johnson with it.
I think it's probably in development hell; it's been ages and they never got as far as shooting a pilot. And the head of HBO entertainment has changed since then.
Finally got my copy of last week's Buffy. The art is ass.
The story is good, the dialog is good, the pacing is good. The art...just...gah. WTF?
Also picked up The Umbrella Academy, Volume 2 of Lone Wolf and Cub's new pocket sized set--very handy and portable.
Diamond apparently made a mistake and shipped some stuff out early (I think it was just Ultimate Origins and Trinity for me). My comic book dude said I couldn't have them because of "street dates" and he was too afraid of Diamond to let them out of the store.

See, I always think the art is ass, so I didn't really notice a difference.
