I always thought the name Serenity had a vaguely funereal sound to it.

Art Crawl!!!

Doesn't it look like Inara is wearing armor under the sari? You know - sleeveless armor.

vanguard of the socialist Hollywood liberal homosexualist agenda

How's the inside art? Because, I understand that those covers are done by a very skilled artist, but... I just don't like them!!

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I realized who "Simon" reminds me of in that cover - Jeremy Davies (when he's clean shaven). And "Inara" looks like Charisma Carpenter.

Wrong like wrong thing that is wrong, those covers.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I'm not current on the Buffy comic, so I've had to keep out of this thread, but I thought people would be interested in the recent discovery of rampant plagiarism in Vertigo titles. It's astonishing, indeed!

And since I'm here, have some links to my WonderCon report. I met Bill Willingham, and I also talked to David Mack every day. Bill Willingham was pretty cool, and David Mack was supernice and has a hot girlfriend.

You always do this. We get tipsy, and you take advantage of my love of the scientific method.

Gary Gygax has died. [link]

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I had to do a double-take when I saw that Steve Chenault was the one giving info out, until I remembered that Gygax had been doing freelance work for him and Mac for years. Odd to see an old college friend's name repeatedly in a news release.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

I'm sure it will be said often, but it was Gygax's time. The eight-sided die has been cast, and the man is out of hit points.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

If you scroll down to the end of this baseball item you'll see that one of the Cubs outfielders suffered the same ailment as Dean Venture of the Venture Brothers. Testicular Torsion.

In other Venture Bros. news (gleaned from Jackson Publick's blog) they're in pre-production on the series finale for S3. S3 won't begin until June. But they are already contracted for an S4.

While I'm at it: Beware the fatal flaws of Brock Samson!

From Stephen DeStefano's excellent blog.
