and acknowledging secret santa gifts and how much joy they bring
I don't have anything to acknowledge (yet) - but my gift has hit the post office and is on its way.
If you ever need an efficient way to torture a teenager, ask her to mail a package from the post office the week before Christmas. Mwah-ha-ha.
eta - evil does not equal bad grammar.
Rock. Maybe if I'm feeling saucy I'll start something in Movies.
Buffistas are the best folks on earth. I just received a PayPal gift that several wonderfully generous folks put together for me. I'm wrestling with my Puritan instincts on whether Christmas is best served by paying bills or by buying something fun, but either way, blessings on you all.

(worksafe, if silly)
2006 cost me a job, but the parts of it I did work I saved sensibly and am not screaming (yet) financially. And some of the interviewing has made me look differently at myself. And not in a bad way.
So there's that.
2006 had many migraines. I'm gonna go with a projected total of about 600. The one I'm having now's not that bad, though.
So there's that.
I haven't seen most of my friends
or
my family much in 2006. But I had one friend by my side more days than not (oy, I won't even estimate how many) and the times I saw everyone else were ratcheted up in appreciation. As I do appreciate the friends and family that I haven't been able to see.
So there's that.
Friends of mine are having dreams come true. I think I like that better than me having my dreams come true. But while we're on the topic, I'm a krav instructor. A good krav instructor. And I'm on schedule for a black belt test in 2007.
There is quite definitely that.
So I ask of 2007 not that much: more employment, better health, more time with friends and family, and a similar dose of fulfilment all round. And krav.
The bar is set both low and high.
Dear Secret Santee,
I have one lovely item ready to go, which I suspect many gift recipients would be well-pleased with. But you see, I got an idea for (a) matching knitted item(s) that would also be terrific. So depending on how much I've bitten off, you may have to wait a couple more days, or even until after Christmas for your Secret Santa.
Your Knitting Secret Santa,
me
Jumping on the it may be a bit late, Santee train. Sadly, I have not near as fun an excuse. Just stooopid slow shipping. I ordered some stuff, from that place, at the time...and well, I guess everyone else in the universe ordered from there too...and well. I haven't gotten it yet to send it to you and, Hmph. But soon...for reals.
I'm on the "I hope your gift isn't late" train. I mailed off my Santee's gift yesterday, but the post office was full of dire warnings so it went UPS Ground instead.
It is on the way, though!
I gave my Santee gift to my shipping department last week Monday. This week Monday they called me up and started asking questions about what was in it. One week it sat! If it doesn't get there in time, I'm making them pay the damn shipping. (We have to pay ourselves for personal shipments, which is fine, just don't screw up my plans!)
