Santa Claus Conquers the Martians (the MST3K version preferred) has been good for my holiday humbugs, even if it isn't particularly heartwarming.
Goodbye and Good Riddance 2006: You're ON THE LIST!!!
Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Christmukkah, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. Oh, and 2006? Don't think we've forgotten about you.
Tell your friend Veronica, its time you celebrate Chanukah
I hope I get a harmonica, on this lovely, lovely Chanukah.
And some people celebrate a harmonica!! [makes shy face, because she knows something about that is wrong]
So adorable!
Oh, P-C I remember reading that story! So awesome! It's nice to remember that there's lots of people out there that don't suck.
I had a gingerbread milkshake at lunch, I'm gonna put on some Christmas music, and I just wished a Happy Chanukah to my Jewish friend, so I'm feeling much more festive.
I think I'm in need of a good viewing of Holiday Inn...
And White Christmas!!
I LOVE those two movies! I used to watch them all the time as a kid--all year round.
I do like me some White Christmas, but Holiday Inn is my preferred film of the two. I should probably watch WC more often before I judge though.
I suddenly feel the need to start a "What's your favorite Christmas/holiday film/cartoon/special discussion, but I would have no idea what thread to put it in. Is this more of a "Screw you, 2006!!!" thread, or is this where all the holiday conversation lands too?
Ailleann, for the series of Christmas concerts I just finished singing in, the symphony played music from "A Charlie Brown Christmas." The music started up ("Oh Christmas Tree") and they lowered a sad little Christmas tree down to the conductor's podium. Every night, those of us sitting on the stage would wait for the moment when the audience saw the tree and then laughed and clapped.
Adorable. I forced my "F#@& Christmas"-attituded friends to let me watch the last two minutes of ACBC last night. I had even brought not-sappy holiday movies, like Scrooged and The Ref, but no dice.
