Goodbye and Good Riddance 2006: You're ON THE LIST!!!

Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Christmukkah, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. Oh, and 2006? Don't think we've forgotten about you.

move out and draw fire

Megan, my condolences.

How did people find us at WX anyway? Did we leave a trail of crumbs from TT or did we just come up on Buffy searches?

I lurked at WX, but I don't remember how I found it. I'd read TT as well, but I don't think I put it together that the WX people were also people I'd read on TT. I think I may have delurked on WX, but just to ask a question, and I lurked right back up again (I have an issue with commitment).

This year has been up and down, mostly because of my friends. My family, small as it is, is pretty wonderful, although we are clearly at a transition point as the year draws down. Mallory has been so much fun this year, and continually easier and less terrifying to take care of. I speak Greek a whole lot better than I did a year ago. I'm working full time, I like my job, and we should be able to afford a house next summer. I got to see lots of you people in May, which rocked beyond the telling.

What negatives I can list in my own life are so insignificant next to things that some of those I care about have faced this year that I should really count them as positives. My friends have dealt with things that would break me, so my prayer as the year turns from dark to light is for them to have a gentle, kind year with joy rather than sorrow.

Ann, that's a ferret.

I also delurked permanently at WX. I'd lurked some at TT, went to lurking at WX after TT went pay. Then delurked.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

(and how impressed am I that you managed to find a mini bottle of Fernet?)

I just watched the movie, Monsieur Ibrahim. It was a slow and lovely movie, but I just about jumped up and down when Monsieur Ibrahim suggested Fernet Branca for indigestion and offered up a small bottle.

Spoiler fonted for caution, because I don't remember the policy on this thread, but it's really such a small one as to not even count.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I only lurked for a day at WX, and then emerged already having a reputation as Joe's FF.

Fair Fiance, sillyhead!!

Femme Fatale suits you better.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

I found you guys on TT after I got bored with off-season postings on figure skating boards. I'd seen commercials for Salon on Bravo and decided to check it out. When I found the Buffy thread I never looked back ( well, almost never!)

I was thinking about the many times that we get into witty riffs on some topic or other. Two of my favorites were the "Boobular containment" convo about bra fitting and the lightbulb vs candels war.

Our wings are not tired.

Yay DebetEsse, you awesome Seekrit Santa!

I have wines from Colorado! I don't believe I have ever consumed Colorado wine before, but that omission shall be corrected soon. Also, you totally cracked me up with your message on the inside box flap. You are a sweetheart, thank you so much.

Also, the mailman delivered the missing part of my package to go to my Santee. Double yay. Thank you USPS.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Dear Santee,

I have grumbled loudly at the US Postal Service people over the phone, but they assure me that your package is (still) on its way, despite the fact that I mailed it on December 18, to be sent Priority (i.e., 2-3 days).

Once you receive it, you might have an inkling as to why it was slowed down so much.

lovens,
