Man, I want one of those cigarette cases, too!

Goodbye and Good Riddance 2006: You're ON THE LIST!!!
Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Christmukkah, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. Oh, and 2006? Don't think we've forgotten about you.
::preens::
::blows smoke rings::
::coughs::
Seekrit Slacker Santa project has hit another snag -- everything is assembled, but Matilda has been craving holding almost incessantly for the past two days, so I manage to wrap one side of one object and then have to stop to lull her to sleep. So, it's taking approximately ten times as long as I had anticipated.
She does sleep beautifully during the Emmett drop-off/pick-up commutes, but it's even harder to wrap a package while tearing across the Bay Bridge and up Highway 80 than it is with a squalling babe on one's lap. So, Santee, I'm hard at work on it and hopefully it'll go out tomorrow, but in the meantime I suck.
(Note to Lee and Teppy: No more disputing about which of you sucks until after my package goes out. For now, all your suck are belong to me.)
Which in turn, belongs to Matilda.
I couldn't get it together to participate in Secret Santa this year so:
2006:
Good:
F2f 2006
Published fiction and a "Wire" essay
Helped defeat a "marriage protection amendment"(first ever...woo hoo!)
Shiny new Congress(although my state is sending back the same dickwads...sorry.)
Bad
Overall lack of direction for my life in general
Moving looks like it will be too hard, even though I still don't belong here
fucking scorched earth finances
The main present I ordered for my secret santee hasn't arrived yet, so it's likely going to end up a traditional Twelfth Night present by the time I can get it all wrapped and redirected.
I have only one question, though, which may seem silly: *which* Stephanie was my Santa? Vortex, or Ellie's mom?
It was me! I'm so glad you liked it. I was originally going to go with a more original Puerto Rican coffee theme, but the whole hospital thing sort of messed up my plans. Still, I'm very happy you liked the present.
In related news, is it possible that my santa sender has already sent the package? I have a package waiting for me at the post office here(orignally arrived while we were at the hospital), but I can't find it (the post office). It was supposed to be re-delivered yesterday but it hasn't shown up. Anyway, I'm going to try again tomorrow to find the post office. Stupid crazy puerto rican address/street system!!!
My giftee's not going to get gifted until after Christmas. I had planned to put it all together last Sunday, but then that idea hit a brick wall.
You know what would be a true Christmas miracle? Me sending out a Seekrit Santa present that arrives before the holiday. I swear poor Matt had to wait until almost spring last year.
In conclusion, I suck but I hope all will be forgiven upon arrival.
Okay, now I want to start smoking again, just so I can have a cigarette case like Amy's.
Me, too! It sounds so cool.
Ahem...
Dear Seekrit Santee:
You're aces. I, however, got thrown off schedule by a day off being cruelly snatched out of my grasp (or, less dramatically, a co-worker's kid got sick, so I helped her out by switching days). BUT, that threw off my whole final shopping schedule to finish putting together your gift and mail it out by yesterday, so, well, it's going to be late.
I hope you enjoy a fabulous Christmas, and just think... even more prezzies to come afterwards! (Insert big, cheesy grin)
♥,
Your Secret Santa, Who Should Really Always Just Go For the Slacker Round.
libkitty! I got my penguin today, and he's adorable. I might name him Pete. As soon as I can figure out how to keep him standing up, I think he's going to live on top of my TV with my tiny wind-up penguin.
