2007 is good, Nilly. Today's ultrasound was good (haven't announced here yet, but yes, you all, I'm pregnant with twins). One twin is slightly bigger than the other. Both are incredibly squirmy. Markers that would show up on a scan for Down's syndrome or spinal bifida were not there. So things look good enough.
Whee! I'm glad you posted it here, Kat, and I'm so glad they're doing so well. A friend of mine just had twins, a week before Christmas. She had a difficult pregnancy, but her babies are doing wonderfully.
This doc is worried about pre-eclampsia, so I'm on baby aspirin to fix blood flow. Mmm... tasty tasty baby aspirin.
You will have vibes, good thoughts and prayers coming at you from all over the world.
And I think I have so many appointments because the pregnancy has been somewhat riddled with complications (I saw my OB a week ago!) and because twins are high risk. But the twins themselves, little shrimp sized parasites squirming away, seem fine.
Yay for swimming shrimp! Complications begone!
You know, about a month ago, a Buffista emailed me (I'll let her out herself if she chooses) and asked if I thought you might be pregnant. It hadn't pinged my radar until she asked, but that day, Allyson was talking about possible sad family news and having to stay close to home, and I got very worried that if the smart Buffista was right about you, then you might be having complications.
Man, it can be such a scary time. I felt like I held my breath between my own tests, and felt the same way when JZ and Plei were going through it. I'm so glad your babies are doing so well. All the best to you and lori. I'm getting misty, so I'm going to stop, now.
Congratulations, Kat! That's such exciting news!
My twin sister and I are fraternal and nobody has ever had an issue telling us apart--mostly because I'm bigger than she is but also because I have brown hair and she has blonde hair. I feel sort of like a giant, cloddish moster next to her because she's so wee
My mom is a fraternal twin, and they are much like this. Mom is 5'9"; her sister is 5'3" or 4". Their names are very similar, though, and when dad started dating mom, he could never remember the name of the twin he was dating. So, he'd go hang out with his friends before calling her or going on a date so they'd ask what he and mom were doing (and use her name). That way he wouldn't call her by the wrong name.
Yes. He's a dork.
Happy Birthday Shrift!
Yay Kat and Lori! One of my co-workers has twin toddlers, and the thing about them that always fascinated me the way they communicate. Ever since they were infants, they've always communicated with coos and cries. Now that they're talking, one still sometimes translates what the other is saying for their parents.
Oops! I was so excited to see the Kat and Lori news that I didn't say, "Happy Birthday, shrift!" So, Happy Birthday, shrift!
Congratulations to Kat & Lori!
Happy Birthday to Shrift!
Yay for my wireless finally working again!
Congratulations to Kat & Lori!

I didn't talk until I was 3 because my twin spoke for me. Yes, she's a lawyer now.
Happy Birthday, Shrift! May there be cake!
So delighted to say congrats to Kat and Lori! You are going to be wonderful parents. Lori needs to consult with Gud on the spaceship building project. And she totally needs to post an ultrasound.
I loved the ultrasounds. The whole pregnancy thing was a wonder to me. It is surprising I didn't sit around with a stethoscope listening to the heartbeat all day. Once I could feel the boys kicking I wanted to poke them when they settled down. Most fascinating to grow humans.
Thank you Kat & Lori for contributing to Buffista World Domination!

Hee. I probably would have done something like that if I had twins.
We have a number of twins in our family. It is nice to see the bond they have in life. I'm close to my sibs, but the link they have is clearly unique.
Hooray Kat and Lori and wee shrimplets!
Happy Birdies, Shrift!
