Shit's all sorts of different now.

Em and I had chicken tikka while Joe enjoyed his sooper hot lamb vindaloo. We also had plain and garlic naan.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Oh, I love the word "vindaloo."

"Vindaloo" always makes me start singing songs from Rent.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Does anyone here prefer Blockbuster's online service better than Netflix?

I have the Blockbuster service and have no major problems (the occassional damaged disc). Never had Netflix, so I can't really compare. I know not of Blockbuster edits. I would think that would be prohibitively expensive and time consuming for them. I've used some of the coupons, but I haven't done the in-store return yet.

mmmmm vindaloo

"Mister Spock is on his fanny, sir. Reports heavy damage."

Netflix totally cops -- not anywhere on its site, I bet -- to the bottleneck thing they do. Basically, if you return movies at a high rate, they put you on The List, and it suddenly starts taking a whole day, or two, to process a return and send the next one out, instead of an hour. I was on The List last spring, and it was pretty irritating; suddenly I couldn't depend on something sent back on Monday being replaced by Friday.

If you're a total spaz and have Mrs. Miniver out for 2 weeks, they take you off The List.

Didn't they have a lawsuit that stopped them from having A List?

Well, because of the suit they changed the TOS:

In determining priority for shipping and inventory allocation, we may utilize many different factors, including without limitation, the number and type of DVDs you rent through our service, the subscription plan you select, as well as other uses of our service by you. For example, if all other factors are the same, we give priority to those members who receive the fewest DVDs through our service.

Which, y'know... as an extremely low-frequency user, I don't think is all that unfair, or for that matter an unsound business practice.

Turnaround time also depends on how close you are to a distribution center, and what you're getting.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

You guys made me hungry, but I don't have any Indian food in the house. So I had pierogies instead. That's close, right?

That's close, right?

Well, if you consider about 3500 miles close...

(Distance between Warsaw and Mumbai--yes, I googled it!)
