Thanks, Kristin and vw! I think maybe it will work out okay after all.

I did some research. It looks like the mondo delays are getting into Chicago, not out of. So, hopefully, once she makes it there, she can get home. Several hours late but home.

It turns out, Kat, that Allyson made a SuperShuttle reservation. We just talked about it and, if she ends up getting into LAX at 10 or 11, she'll take the shuttle home and I'll bring her over tomorrow to pickup her car. This way, there's no driving home at midnight on NYE.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

It looks like, once she gets out of Providence, she might end up stranded in Chicago tonight. I've been asked to put out the word to anyone around here who might be in Chicago.

I'm here and available to rescue her from the evil airport if needed.

Thanks for the ping, Kristin. I'm a couple thousand posts behind.

Thank you so much! I'll let you know if we need to put a Rescue Allyson from O'Hare Plan into action.

Kristen, I'm here in Chicagoland, as well! Let me know if she needs pickup and/or place to stay overnight--I'm about 20 minutes away from O'Hare and can be there pretty quick.

Thank god. I was worried about that. Yoiks. I can also go and get her to get her car because, actually easier for me as I'm closer. But whatever works.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

That sucks, Kevin.

I had big plans to spend today and tomorrow doing massive amounts of laundry and cleaning my apartment, so that I started the New Year with things in order.

I only have enough quarters for 4 loads, and so far, the house cleaning is not so much happening.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Gotta love the buffistas.

I did so awesome at Ikea!! I'm not 100% sure what took so long in there, but I emerged unscathed with a new bed and dresser! OK, I won't actually have the bed and dresser until Friday, but I do have new under-bed storage boxes and dresser drawer organizer thingies already. Also a little gift for someone. Here's a clue: MONKEY MONKEY. And no candles!

I did not have the meatballs.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

If you guys don't know about the Gaslight Club in the O'Hare Hilton you should check it out.
