My mom says the schedule looks fairly normal to her for elementary. Seemed weird to me but then I realized I've eaten lunch by 11 most days...
Man, having people talk at me all morning long....man. I love them, but shhhhhhh...
edit: Kat! You might, er, keep an eye on the weather. It's potentially funky.
Most elementary schools stagger the lunch schedule -- all of the kids won't fit in the cafeteria at once, after all. I don't think any of my kids have ever eaten as early as 10:40, but I know they have had lunch at 11:15. That said, they usually had morning snack, and then lunch, but either way it evens out.
Yay for mac going to school!
I have so much laundry, packing, wrapping, and baking to do today I am paralyzed with the need to sit here and stare into my mug of tea instead.
Yeah, I've heard tell of the brunch-lunch, because there's only so much room in the cafe or whatever.
OMG, I just got an endless voicemail about going to my HS reunion tonight, which she already knows I don't want to go to! My parents busted me, telling her I'm coming in today. @@
Also, I'm ready for lunch now.
Thanks for the kind words, everyone! We're excited, if still a bit surprised.
And happy birthday, Strega!
I had a chile burger for breakfast. Yum! And now I'm off.
My elementary school, lunch was at 11:30. But we didn't actually have a cafeteria -- the school was built with the expectation that kids would go home for lunch. When I was there, maybe half the kids went home for lunch each day, and the ones who stayed at school ate in the classrooms.
In middle and high school, there was one cafeteria for grades 7-12. It could hold about two full grades at a time, so lunch was staggered. Seventh and eighth grades ate at 10:20, ninth and tenth at 11:20, and eleventh and twelfth at 12:20.
sara, are you telling me that the weather sucks and it will be treacherous?
I am at work. With peppermint bark and no intention of doing any work.
