My brother is pro-gift cards. Though he's taken care of (sans gift cards this year) wanna get him next year, shrift? (hee, shrift the Santa of GCs.)

Dude, you guys! The grocery store and drug store have tons of gift cards for other places! Home Depot, iTunes, Macy's, local food chains, JC Penney, Visa and Mastercard check cards that are like cash!

So far today I have done my Christmas shopping at Walgreens on my lunch break, and at the grocery store while I was picking up cat food and light bulbs.

For my mom and sister I will probably get physical gifts, if only because they're big into Christmas and don't ask for things like drill bit sharpeners.

Will people think you suck if you get them nothing but gift cards?

HA! are you kidding! people would LOVE for me to give them gift cards. Actually I just need to get something for my bro and his wife. Which will be a gift card.

Shrift of the Santa Gift Cards would be AWESOME. I'd pay to watch that every year around thanksgiving.

But I don't even want to go to a store and pick!

Shrift, the thought of getting to the grocery store or to the drugstore is overwhelming.

The stores I've been to over the past week include only Ann Taylor (return) and Staples. Neither of which are appropriate gift certificate stuff for my brother and SIL.

MWAH! I love sarameg.

Sarameg, what do I get for your parents for christmas?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Gift cards would be marvellous, especially on the packing front. Just not...international enough for me.

Hmm. Appears I shouldn't necessarily have gotten out of bed.

I'm pretty good at gift cards, man. I make sure the stores actually exist near the people they're for, and that they shop there.

But I don't even want to go to a store and pick!

Too late! I couldn't mail anything in time for Christmas now. Chicago snail mail is too much like Going Postal for that!

Oh man. That's so true.

The thing about my bro? He works for UPS. So he's okay with me not getting things to him on time. He called me. I should call him back some time today. Or ever.

That sucks, Kat. The only reason I made it to the drugstore for lunch is because it was 50 feet away from where I work. And the grocery store is only half a mile, plus I get to drink rum when I'm done.
