Buffy. When I saw you stop the world from, you know, ending, I just assumed that was a big week for you. Turns out I suddenly find myself needing to know the plural of 'apocalypse.'

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Now I'm watching 30 Rock, and no one told me Ryan O'Reilly was her boyfriend!

Art Crawl!!!

How was the OC? I briefly thought of watching it -- but I had SPN on in case of preview and mostly read through it.

Seriously?!!! I mean, SERIOUSLY?! Dude. So awesome!

I don't know that I can talk them into a trip up there (they're feeling old and creaky re road trips) but I totally would love to have you down there, if you can swing it without problem. Dude. ( I hate that word. And yet...) Seriously.

So very awesome. Maybe we'll do the train to Lamy (is that right?) one day? Maybe not. We'll figure something out. Make them take a trip! I'm ailing! Or you know.... something like that. But i'd love to meet your parents and we can drive down if necessary.

I'll talk to them soon. Regardless of what works out, yay you guys! I love your trips, vicariously.

Which 3 nights are you booked?

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Um. My co-worker Lynn hasn't actually met T-Bone Burnett, just hung out a lot with the Palladinos, as the male one is her husband's brother, and heard all their T-Bone stories.

Lynn told me a t snark Cute Kids Story t /snark T-Bone told her BIL about his kids and Tom Waits's kids: A few years ago, all the parents and kids were hanging out at someone's house, with the grown-ups at one end of the living room and the kids at the other. Something youth-relevant popping up in the adults' conversation, T-Bone said something warm and welcoming to his son, trying to draw him into the conversation, and in return got audible cringing and the elaborate pained rolling of eyes. At which one of Tom Waits's sons nodded sympathetically and said, "Oh, God, it's awful when they try to talk to you."

Which is really kind of a relief for any mere mortal parent of a teenager; if T-Bone Burnett and Tom Waits aren't cool enough to talk to their teens in front of other teens, there's clearly no point in anyone else even bothering to try.

Other exciting moment in the conversation: I pimped Buffy bunches and bunches, and Lynn will head off to the local giant video library this weekend to pick up S1.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Santa Fe!

That is the coolest T-Bone Burnett story (who is awesome, btw). I was about to ask you, Hec, if that were the Sam Phillips who used to be Leslie Phillips in the Christian music world, but I googled and indeed it is. She is talented. I didn't know she married Burnett.
