I'm coming to the conclusion that I just don't understand how my heating system works. Here is how I think it's supposed to work: a. the boiler downstairs is running, my thermostat is set at a temperature, the radiators run to get the apartment to the temperature. When the apartment is at that temperature, they stop running.
Here is how it is working: the thermostat is set at a temperature. The boiler downstairs is working. The radiators run until the boiler is so low that the safety valve shuts it off. I fill up the boiler and we start over.
That can't be right, can it?
Yay Allyson! You pure and witty sassy ass you.
eta: sorry sumi I am totally without radiator knowledge, except maybe the car one
I love that he used me as an example sooo much. And also that I got a comparision to Sedaris. I can't even tell you what that means to me, and that my editor is so confident in me.
I can't wait for Mac to try a slice of New York pizza.
Not for nothing, but you can't order New York pizza online.
Now I want pizza. Possibly ordered online.

That's totally amazing. Good on you.

Not true! NSM in the outer boroughs, but there are a few places near my office on Seamlessweb.
I think that my problem may be with how tight/loose I have the valves on my radiators in my apartment itself. Not sure where they should be though.
(I googled radiators and found a wikipedia article but it didn't help.)
An artist who gets the big-eyes thing is creepy.
Man, I
am
coming down with a cold. Life sucks.
Yay for msbelle and mac! I have been thinking about you all week while I was not able to get to the computer much!
Also, from way, way, way back... I am so glad I neither skipped not skimmed, because I would have missed Neil Patrick Harris and Jason Segal singing Confrontation from Les Mis. I want to show it every Christmas, as it was both the funniest thing I have ever seen, the most adorkable think I have every seen, and actually pretty good.
Also, NYCistas-- my office Christmas Party is going to be in New York next Saturday(they are renting a limo and we are riding down.) I am not sure if I will have any free time, but it looks like perhaps the lunch/afternoon might be free time for us to buy our "secret santa" gifts (yes I am aware this is craxy.). I am hoping to run away and perhaps look at fabric/yarn button shops rather than hang in Rockfeller center, and I would love to perhaps meet up for lunch/tea? Also, if anyone knows any good fabric/yarn/button shops that I can get to on the subwayand back I would appreciate it. I am pretty good at navigating the subway if I know the beginning and ending stops...
