Damn you people with your "lives" and "sleeping"!
Have all my Buffistas forsaken me?? It's not even my Jesus year! (Which, btw, I was relieved to find out, because if it had been 31, I'd only have a couple months left of it...which would have been a bummer! I mean, I plan to get my mileage out of my Jesus year.)
Have I mentioned how painfully bored I am?
ETA: Plei!! Oh thank God. I am indeed trapped in an author's nightmare, but I think it's Dante's 9th/10th ring of hell.
Hee! When I was that age, I loved school dances with a desperate passion.
But I was a geek, so I never danced with anybody. But I loved to dance! And, O, the dramas.
I'm here. but i'm going to bed soon. Have you had the classic clearly gay teen dancing awkwardly with his soon to be fag hag?
This school dance phenomenon...makes me feel like an alien. But other people's high schools make me feel awkward enough.
On the upside, I'm sipping a triple macchiato.
Vortex, I didn't see it...but it's a girls' school, so maybe the awkward teen soon-to-be gay boys are too freaked to come. Or maybe it's just that I've been
stuck outside a bathroom all night
and haven't had the chance to witness it. Argh.
I'm out of here in 10 minutes. It's a very good thing that I'll be wiping this memory away with copious amounts of alcohol tomorrow night.
ETA: ita, macchiato sounds YUM.
macchiato sounds YUM.
I've become strangely acclimated to them.
Hopefully it takes the edge off and I can sleep. Perhaps in front of BSG, as precedent has been set.
Mmm, macchiato.
Perhaps in front of BSG, as precedent has been set.
Hey, it worked for me! In fact, I'm about to go try it again.
Gronk.
Went to bed early last night. Did not go right to sleep, which was good, because otherwise the cops pounding at my door a half hour later might have been even more alarming.
Actually, the sequence was more
Furious barking
then
cops pounding then more furious barking.
They had a report of screaming coming from an apartment on my floor. And wanted to know if this was the Blair residence. Ho-kay.
Me: "No, I haven't heard a thing. And she would've..."
glances at still grumbling dog, trails off
Cop: Laughs. "Yeah, I was kind of figuring."
Anyway, it was cute. As was he. Me, not so much, but next time I fall into bed at 9 o'clock I'll try to remember to put on something nicer.
I'm writing about Chaucer's take on social unrest and poverty/peasantry, particularly in light of the 1381 Peasant Revolts that he more than likely witnessed at very close range. It's more a social Chaucer than a deeply textual analysis.
I really love buffistas' spicy brains.
I have no macchiato. Everything tastes like acid today--coffee, tea, diet coke. I just opted for some chocolate milk.
Are you feeling any better today, Cashmere? Has the shot kicked in?
