The thing is, I don't feel I work that hard--witness me being here right now. How bad of slackers are my co-workers, that I'm getting all this praise?
Maybe it's a question of productivity? My sister's complaint about working in an office was always that everyone else took twice as long to complete something as she did, so why shouldn't she be able to leave earlier than they did? In the classroom, there are inevitably people who finish tasks much earlier than the others, it doesn't mean I think the slower ones are slacking (okay, sometimes, it does).
I'd love to get a pair of long boots, but I have honkin' calves, and I've never tried on a pair that I could get to zip up.
Maybe it's a question of productivity?
Possibly. I try to feel guilty about the work I could be doing, then I find out that customers are mentioning me by name to supervisors and bosses as one of the best and I think "There's a place in the world for 'good enough' if 'good enough' makes people happy." If nothing else, it keeps my work stress levels down. Everybody wins.
Is Homophobia Associated With Homosexual Arousal?
Google html-ized version of study pdf.
The authors investigated the role of homosexual arousal in exclusively heterosexual men who admitted negative affect toward homosexual individuals. Participants consisted of a group of homophobic men (n = 35) and a group of nonhomophobic men (n = 29); they were assigned to groups on the basis of their scores on the Index of Homophobia (W. W. Hudson & W. A. Ricketts, 1980). The men were exposed to sexually explicit erotic stimuli consisting of heterosexual, male homosexual, and lesbian videotapes, and changes in penile circumference were monitored. They also completed an Aggression Questionnaire (A. H. Buss & M. Perry, 1992 ). Both groups exhibited increases in penile circumference to the heterosexual and female homosexual videos. Only the homophobic men showed an increase in penile erection to male homosexual stimuli. The groups did not differ in aggression. Homophobia is apparently associated with homosexual arousal that the homophobic individual is either unaware of or denies.
This is a common idea, but has it ever been experimentally shown before?
I have an interview in an hour and a half. Do I try and do more research on the technical aspects of the job and bullshit my way through, or do I try to talk up what I actually have experience with?
Also, can someone come fix my computer speakers? Thanks.
No prob! My sister has big calves from soccer and she loves tall boots and she gets them from there.
There's somewhere else, too, but I can't remember offhand.

Is Homophobia Associated With Homosexual Arousal?
Well! It's certainly confirmed anecdotally by the recent scandals.
How much evidence is there of women having lesbian-oriented homophobia?
Now you're just being an enabler.
