It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I always made fun of my mother for adding oranges as stocking "filler." I had no idea they were tradition. (Although I do remember from Little House on the Prairie the time they got pennies-- right? Big day!)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I never got the orange thing, and am still failing to. I'd imagine, though, Laura's kids would similarly fail to get it. I mean, they're in the backyard.

My sinuses are attacking me again. Atchoo.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

It's a winter pre-trucking thing.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Jesse's right -- oranges are exotic as durians, if you're in, say, Nebraska in 18-whatever. I suppose having orange juice would nearly be unthinkable.

We're getting snow this morning, which is making the world white and exciting. Also exciting is that it's not going to stick, since it's 34 degrees now and only going to get warmer. Which means that it's a nice picturesque snow, which you can admire and then go about your business, secure in the knowledge that you aren't going to have to shovel or do much more than admire it.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

The snow on the sidewalks here is mostly gone. Some was shoveled away, and what wasn't shoveled turned to ice after being trod upon many times....

34? We have 12, and falling.

Falling? I think it's supposed to get to upper 20s-ish today. Maybe it was falling until the sun came up. (I think. Not that we'd be able to see the sun if it was up.)

Hmm. They said it was 15 a few hours ago.

But now the screen says 14, so I guess you're right. Cool.

Yay!

Of course, he wasn't going to be confirmed so he would have been out soon anyway, but still....

There are still rumors floating about that Cheney might resign...
