"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I am ill. But, 2 people are on vacation, one is in another office in another city, so there would only be 2 of us to begin with. So, I'm here for her. She also brought me pumpkin bread and coffee- she's worth the effort.

Hah! Every week or so, we get the minutes from one faculty committee or another. They are as boring as you would imagine. But I just received the minutes of the Curriculum Committee from a physics professor, prefaced thusly:

"The meeting was held on a beautiful day in late October. Freshly fallen gold and crimson leaves waltzed in remarkable eddies outside the window of the [...] conference room, and low-hanging gray clouds sped eastward beneath an overcast sky, like sailing ships racing toward the Atlantic..."

You gotta admire the guy for trying!

What is even happening?

Oh, speaking of paying attention, I did read the link from earlier about the Christian Coalition, and it seems to me like they're permanently marginalized now, which pleases me no end.

Well, yeah! And it seems a deliberate choice in favor of marginalization, on their part. I mean...

"Now that you've chosen me to lead you, I would like to broaden our platform to do stuff Jesus actually told us to do."

"No."

Huh?

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Heh. I'm wondering if he's feeling like his committee notes are largely unread and wants to see if anybody's reading.

Ailleann, at first I was surprised it was Wilson who caved. But, then I realized that this is what Wilson does. He tries to fix people. And he realizes, at this point, House desparately needs fixing, even if it's against his will. I think it was Cuddy that broke him down, but Chase sealed the deal. That, and he can get his assets unfroze, but that's not his primary reason for doing it.

I loved it when House says they aren't going to fix the girl with "sunshine and puppies" and then it turns out she's allergic to sunshine.

Also, I loved Cuddy. Period. She has grown on me bigtime.

Oooh, Sail -- Also, Wilson is an oncologist, who is used to his medicine being very hard on the patient before it cures them. "You've got to be cruel to be kind." Good characterization all around, especially Cuddy.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That's cute, megan.

"Now that you've chosen me to lead you, I would like to broaden our platform to do stuff Jesus actually told us to do."

"No."

Huh?

Seriously.

Poor sickies!! People should stay home when sick, IJS. Good job yesterday, Theo.

I got Girl Scout cookies today. (Why this time of year, I have no idea.) Needless to say, I've already eaten several. I'm trying to decide if I should try to make my coworkers eat them, or if I should hoard them for myself.

I love the press they're getting about the resignation. Will be interesting to see how recruitment will be affected by what amounts to a declaration that the Christian Coalition wants nothing to do with that mamby-pamby "help the needy" nonsense that Jesus wasted his adult life on.

Totally agree with you, Theodosia. As much as I love to hate House, love how fucked up he is, at this point I'm nearly just hating him. It's interesting that at the beginning of the season Wilson and Cuddy thought House had lost his diagnostic edge because he wasn't in pain and now he's lost it because he is in pain. Nice way they've brought that around full circle.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I'm torn on Wilson -- on the one hand, yes, he's justified, and yes, House needs help. But on the other hand would it have killed him to confront House directly about the forged prescriptions before running to Tritter? I feel like the way he's handled it has been remarkably passive-aggressive, which is in character but it still pisses me off.
