Students protested on campus last week. It's really insane. I have class tonight and want to find out if anything else is being organized. I can't even believe that video. The only positive thing I can say is that it was nice to see the other students speaking up.
Students are always protesting here. Last week, some students were protesting because they 1) had had an interim dean for "too long" and 2) the elevator didn't work in their building

Quite right, ita. The video produced a highly emotional response. Rationality returned very quickly, but there you go.

The part that bothers me the most is wondering if the cops' reaction (or that of the various people now defending them) would have been the same if the kid's name had been Jeff Smith and he'd been white.
