Lorne: Once the word spreads you beat up an innocent old man, well, the truly terrible will think twice before going toe-to-toe with our Avenging Angel. Spike: Yes. The geriatric community will be soiling their nappies when they hear you're on the case. Bravo.

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

I don't know if you want to riot against the guys with tasers, Sean. It doesn't smack of happy endings.

Quite right, ita. The video produced a highly emotional response. Rationality returned very quickly, but there you go.

I can't even believe that video.

The part that bothers me the most is wondering if the cops' reaction (or that of the various people now defending them) would have been the same if the kid's name had been Jeff Smith and he'd been white.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

What'd I say?? Buddhist monks and nuns.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I saw a story over at americablog (I'll have look up the link) that said that the UCLA campus police have it written into their regulations that they can taser anyone engaging in passive resistance protest (i.e. sitting on the floor and not moving). Disgusting.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

UCLA campus police have it written into their regulations that they can taser anyone engaging in passive resistance protest

Seriously?? Holy shit!

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Am I missing a link? "monks"and "nuns" is not showing up on my religion square. I have Christianity and Jesus but nothing links to them

Because books.

Exactly this.

In Funny Farms news, I have only two clues left on the farm page. Help me! I need the thing that connects sheep and goat and the offshoot to the left of cowboy.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Laga, it's a different square. Lower down.

Amyliz, looks like you're missing llama and cowboyneal.

JenP - Nov 20, 2006 10:03:23 am PST #1562 of 10007

Do you want the answer or just hints, AmyLiz?

Also, what's the word directly to the right of barn that connects to a new box?

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Anybody know what joins the two flaming drinks ?

Amy - Nov 20, 2006 10:06:15 am PST #1564 of 10007
Because books.

ita, what the hell is that second one?! Word association is one thing, but it should follow some kind of logic, no?

JenP, got 'em. And you need to think of a big dinosaur kids love.
