You know, I've saved lives. Dozens. Maybe hundreds. I reattached a girl's leg. Her whole leg. She named her hamster after me. I got a hamster. He drops a box of money, he gets a town.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Yes, I and a couple of others around here can attest to the fact that brain tumors are distinctly lacking in up-sides.

My brother mostly deals with the experimental lab end, not so much the treatment end. Mice, rats, petri dishes and manufactured cells. Today he apparently met with some kids and parents. It's a sobering reminder of what he's really working on. I mean, I'm sure he's aware of that on some level on the day to day, but he's missing his kid today and people are...personal.

I think asshat is coming into common use. Just heard it on Ghost Whisperer.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I don't know if I'm Jew enough for JDate. I don't observe the Sabbath, and bacon is fantastic.

Really, very few people on JDate, at least in most cities, are observant. Most of the observant people have moved over to Frumster by now.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Frumster! Sorry--that's a great name.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

And the lady when I called made it seem like it wouldn't be quite that immediate them repossessing my car or anything.
Heh. I got one of those the other day but it *was* about my car. For something under $37... They'd just ignored my last (automatically sent by the bank) payment because it was for more than the total loan amount.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Finally caught up with S60...maybe I'm reading different gossip rags than Sorkin is, but I'm pretty sure I've never read anything, ever, anywhere, about a President of Programming at any network. Ever.

S60...maybe I'm reading different
I am finding that the less I know, or more importantly think, about Sorkin, the more I like S60. Ignorance is entertaining, not bliss, but it will do.

It's Friday night. I'm putting off watching the Sci Fi Friday and catching up on Spooks by importing all my TV/movie sound effects/quotations into the iTunes on my Powerbook.

God, I remember when it was all the rage to customise the sound events in Windows.

I just hit "Help! Help! Somebody save me!" by Tweety Bird, and it's cracking me up unduly.

I know I had a life at one time. Perhaps it's in the other room.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Yesterday I get a "Will proceed to collections toute suite" bill. For $12. Because apparently I should have paid that off when I first got the bill for $700. The rest of the amount has gone away, which is quite nice. And the lady when I called made it seem like it wouldn't be quite that immediate them repossessing my car or anything.

I had something ridiculous like that for testing I had with Olivia. I went to a different hospital than usual (my OB trainied there and he sent all his high risk/aging moms there for testing). Their billing was so screwed I never quite knew what I was paying. And while I was waiting for the insurance company to sort it out, I kept getting calls. Every two days. Asking me to pay. The bill was less than $30.

Needless to say, with all the harassment, I waited until the last possible minute to pay the damn thing.
