Does anybody mind if I pass out?

Spike's Bitches 33: Weeping, crawling, blaming everybody else

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

You're ahead of us. The Christmas boxes never left our living room.

Embrace the idea that we are the leaders we've been looking for. Grace Lee Boggs

Congratulations to Em!!! How very exciting Aimee!

Our wings are not tired.

Go Em!

I had big plans. Weeding and mulching plans. Packing up Christmas plans. I bought mulch, and the boys and I weeded a little bit, but not enough to mulch. I bought bins, but no Christmas stuff is put away in them.

But DH just called me from the road to ask me to go to the movies with him. So I'm going to shower and go finally see Casino Royale. Yay!

GF called to see if her son could hang here so she could have a date, but I told her she was too late because I had a date. Yes, I do.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Way to go, Emeline!

Heh, that's a lot more literal than usual.

You're making me want to watch the Waltons, libkitty. I don't think I ever did.

Y'all dexhristmasing makes me happy that we don't decorate at all. My living rooms is still full of cardboard boxes, but that's just from having stuff shipped - I should have had everything delivered straight to my family, but I thought it would be more personal to wrap them all here and send them on.

And have I even done that? No, of course not.

All your slack is belong to me.

And, Suzi, I'm grateful you can post one-handed, but I still would prefer you not hurt yourself any further.

eta: yay for Laura's date! Better than mulching.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Not saying anything about the de-Xmasification, but I just have to say how envious I am of your gardening. It still feels so wrong, wrong, wrong to start the garden in May.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

-t, the freaky part of the burn was that I didn't actually feel the pan (staright out of the oven) touch my finger. It was a bit later when my finger started hurting and there was the tell tale burn mark. I mean, how did my nerves NOT freak at the moment of contact?

ETA - Oh, and CONGRATS to Emeline. Or, I should really say congrats to Aimee and MM.

Harumph! When you have a show, and then a migraine, and then a party, and don't read bitches for three days, there are SIX HUNDRED posts or more to go through!

However, my girl is headed off to the DC Mayor's Inaugural Ball (sadly, her friends had one extra ticket, but not two) and I have both Chex Mix and Muddy Buddies (the chex mix with chocolate and peanut butter and powdered sugar) that I made earlier, so I can fortify myself to slog through some posts...

...off I go!

Just since I posted a bunch about marriage problems, I thought I would update that things are pretty much all patched up now. Not exactly perfect, but probably no more so than any marriage is.

This is very happy to hear. Yay, Gud and Mrs. Gud!

JZ as homeless person made me LAUGH AND LAUGH. I'm sorry. But OMG!!! You win forever, JZ.

By the by, picture of me and Fay: [link]

AWESOME! Yay SA and Fay! Looks like you're having evil evil fun!

I am skimming with my eyes half-closed all the hurty-children stories.

YAY to seeing smonster here too!!!

Fuck a mousetrap. Someone go out there and invent a better uterus.

I've never understood why, evolutionarily, having your period can't just be like going ot the bathroom, albeit a less-frequent urge--y'know, like once a month you pause and go "Ooh, gotta go", and you squeeze your uterus and then you're done! That would be so much easier.

In a case fraught with ethical questions, the parents of a severely mentally and physically disabled child have stunted her growth to keep their little "pillow angel" a manageable and more portable size.

My mom used to do daycare and took care of a girl a few years older than me who was severely mentally retarded (later they found out it was a degenerative brain thing, she died around 25, in a nursing home). And I know how hard it got to move her, as she got older and older (and it's not like she could exercise a lot and lose weight, so she wasn't a skinny 120 pounds or anything, more like 180). Though removing the breasts seems weird, I totally understand the rest of it. So I was totally with these parents...until they called her their "pillow angel" and I wanted to smack them.

Totally agree with all the smiting of WeeSisterJay's "friend".

I also thought Bradley Cooper was gay...

He dated girls in college. OTOH, he also wore tight Versace pants on campus, and we made fun of him. And it's not like *I* was out in college, so...uh...yeah.

My kids have a full complement of grandparents, four great-grandmothers, one great-grandfather, and one great-great-grandmother.

WOW!

he thought of Juliana, Aimee, Smonster and Vortex hitting North Beach together brings to mind Tokyo cowering before Godzilla's wrath.

also makes me v v jealous

Look, I don't mind you making lewd comments, as long as they're grammatically well-constructed."

I think this is an excellent guideline for all my friends and paramours

Baffled people with my serious interest in learning to curl.

I have many DC friends who curl. Watch out-- I broke my ARM when they tried to teach me!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

My parents are thinking about moving up to Lake Shasta for their retirement. One of the draws is that they would not be able to garden in the winter, and therefore would not have gardening chores hanging over them for at least part of the year.
