Gotcha. I was gonna go down to see it but just don't have the energy so we're spending a night in.
Spike's Bitches 33: Weeping, crawling, blaming everybody else
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
billytea!! So good to see you! Sadly, I will not be seeing you in person any time soon--the work trip to Melbourne has been cancelled for me (someone else is going, I'm on a new project, which is awesome except for the not-going-to-Melbourne part)
Already said in another thread, but....damn, man. Gus? Stupid 2006.
Weird. Lean Cuisine Fettucini Alfredo is actually not that bad.
last night for NYE party, headed to officemates place for a Game Night. We played a new game for me, Apples To Apples. In a nutshell, everyone has 7 noun cards. Rotating judge draws an adjective card. All non-judge players play a noun. Judge determines who wins the round.
OK, so the hostess is the judge for this round. She draws INTELLIGENT. The other players lay down cards with cockiness and full of confidence that they have the best shot at winning the round. I lay down a blank one, a "choose your own noun" card. As I look around the room, and spy a Serenity movie poster, BTVS box set, all seasons of Angel, etc. I announce, "my blank card is Joss Whedon!" The room goes quiet. The life is sucked out of the bravado from moments before. The hostess looks up and says, "o ya, hands down, you won that one". One guy was like "who is joss whedon?? I don't get it...." It was great! Ended up winning the game too :)
ION, now that I have a watch that sync's with the atomic clock in CO... I couldn't help but notice all the NYE countdowns were time delayed by 8-20 seconds. Stupid FCC! What was worse, WE ARE IN CALIFORNIA! All the broadcasts were filmed in NY THREE HOURS EARLIER! Pfft. I just remember how Mom used to make us set our watches to the countdown, and wonder how many other people do that, only to discover their watches are already wrong.
Ha! I love that game, omnis. Good on you for Jossing your way to the win.
We went to a friend's house and played Taboo today. It was great fun, except my migraine came back near the end of the day. One of the folks there practices and teaches Chinese medicine and she very kindly did some acupressure stuff which helped until I got home, but now it's kicking my ass.
I love a good board game and it was a terrific way to start the year.
Omnis - I just discovered Apples to Apples last night. Just came here from posting about it in my lj. Loved it, though I would have loved to have played with your group of folks than with my group who would have gone Joss who?
Things are well, BT. Just got back from San Francisco, where S and I spent a few days visiting with my family, and being absolutely delighted by my slightly-less-than-two-years-old nephew.
Aw, so good. I saw my two-year-old nephew in Canberra over Christmas, he's big with the Thomas the Tank Engine love. My sister and her hubby got him a Thomas bed for Christmas. He was reportedly rapt.
YAY BILLYTEA! Missed you!
Disconnecticutie! How are you and the hairy one? I have this theory that he's actually clean-shaven, and the cats just shed on his face every night.
This is beardism! I'm being oppressed!
BT! We saw Happy Feet on Christams and I thought of you. I am glad to hear you saw it--it was charming.
