I tell you I have this theory. It goes where, you're the one who's not my sister. Cuz mom adopted you from a shoe box full of baby howler monkeys, and never told you cuz it could hurt your delicate baby feelings.

Spike's Bitches 33: Weeping, crawling, blaming everybody else

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

I feel weird and ashamed to post about not-Gus, but... Sean, you and S. should totally come visit, and share some single malt with us, and do some baby-admiring. I don't think you'll be betraying your deep love of Em by doing so -- now that she and Lily are both solidly in toddler/little kid territory, the TCBITW, West Coast Division, title is once again open. We need an objective judge (Zmayhem may be just the smallest bit biased).

Also, she was read to last night, in an attempt at distraction from Gus sadness, and it turns out that she is a genius at being read to. The book was Peter Rabbit (a gift from Cass's future intended), not a tale generally known for its gripping and suspenseful narrative, but she was boggling and astonished and OMGWTFing at every page. "Oh noes! A shoe amongst the potatoes! The rake! Peter no no Peter look out MR. MCGREGOR'S SIEVE!" So immensely satisfying.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I am feeling, right now, so lucky to have been able to meet Gus here. Goodbye, Weremonkey. Have fun blowing minds in the world to come.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

What appliance will be played by Brad Pitt?

Now where's Trudy when you need her?

Ah Grasshopper, you do not need me for that one.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Ah, do I know how to pick swoop in and steal them or what?

Now I would like to see Matilda being read to as well. Boggled, mesmerized babies are fun.

My attempt at a nap is being less than napful.

Mostly lurking...

Are you now going to get a food processor and name it Louise?

Now that, my friend, is a fabulous idea! They would be quite the pair!

What appliance will be played by Brad Pitt?

Oh dear.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

kimi, if you come by here again, I am so sorry to hear about Gus. My thoughts are with you and Seamus.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

waves

We slept in late today, I wrote in my journal, and now I am thinking about breakfast. Luckily we have leftover quiche in the fridge from a family thing we went to yesterday morning. This is the first non-work day for TCG that we haven't had plans in quite a while, and we intend to enjoy it by reading and getting Chinese take-out.

We celebrated NYE with Victor and Thessaly last night, which was quiet and just the way I like it.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

Oh, no. Gus.

crying

Gotta go tell Tom.

I'm so sorry, Kimi. I'm so sorry, Buffistas.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

I'm crying for a friend who was never anything more than electrons to me, but he was no less a friend for that. I wish it could have been otherwise.

Yes, this. Damn. Damn. Damn.

Kimi, I'm more sorry for your loss than I can hope to express.

move out and draw fire

Oh man. I was just looking through my email and thinking "I wonder if Gus is going to write me back?" And then, as I do every time I think about him, "I wonder if Gus is okay?"

I guess the answer is now, "Yes he is, but we are not."

So many lives were better because he was in the world. All I have is Isle of Jura, but I think I'll make one of the drinks he submitted to the cookbook and raise a glass to his life and legacy.
