Zoe: I thought you wanted to spend more time off-ship this visit. Wash: Out there is seems like it's all fancy parties. I like our party better. The dress code is easier and I know all the steps.

Spike's Bitches 33: Weeping, crawling, blaming everybody else

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Our wings are not tired

Kristin gave me a 25 year old Bowmore for Christmas. I've not opened and tasted it yet. When we get back home later this evening I'll be opening it and I'm going to pour a glass for Gus.

If I only had a brain...

Gus's glowing pride talking about his son, and about his son's girlfriend (later wife, I think?), and about the things they were doing with their lives.

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

Oh, Seamus. I hope you're handling things okay. Keep fighting the good fight. Your dad would want it that way.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Gus was just so much fun to shoot the shit with. I remember him talking about his Serenity kite (which for some aerodynamic reason would only fly upside down) and I threatened to build a Reaver kite to do battle with his Serenity - I forget his exact response but it was along the lines of, "Bring it, man!"

He will be missed greatly.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I think this was his first post in Natter 9:

Blood is thicker than water. Adjust your recipes accordingly.

I've been threadsucking Natter on alternate days. It's like getting a really thick free book three times a week. My Amazon account misses me.

***********

So he was here a little bit before his drunken post from the bar with his laptop.

The first person to welcome him? Jesse. No wonder he always loved that cowgirl.

Always Anti-fascist!

He posted here for three years without kerfuffling or bitterness. In fandom, that is not a career. That is a miracle. (Paraphrased from Jay Landsman, who was eulogizing somebody else.)

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Oh, god. Thanks for telling us, kimi, I'm sure it's difficult but we appreciate you letting us know. I'm crying at half-six in the morning on a new year, fantastic way to go off to France, but I'll be thinking of Gus on the journey. To you, Gus, wherever you are.

Happy new year, everyone.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Happy New Year, SA. Have fun storming the Gauls.

Mang (to quote Jesse), we had some interesting discussions in Natter 9 (when Gus delurked). We were all disaffected by the tone in the show threads (remember show threads?) and cultural shifts and....Well, we talked a lot about it.

eta: Heh. Also...we argued about the serial comma. No, really.

also eta: ::pout:: Also, Betsy and ita weren't having multiple migraines every week.

whoa eta: ...and when Schmoker showed up. Wow. That was a world ago.
