Spike's Bitches 33: Weeping, crawling, blaming everybody else
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
I've been trying to forget the fishnet shirts.
vw, baby wipes work very well on sticky stuff, too.
I always kept a travel sized thing of baby wipes on hand ever before I had kids because they worked WONDERS removing bar stamps.
the mascara lady was scary
Ok. I'm off to party! Happy New Years, Bitches!
vw, cake looks yummy! If your ma doesn't want it, I volunteer to eat it... o shoot, I'm supposed to stop eating sweets. grrrrr.
Glad to hear you are feeling better.
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
And of course, as militant as I am about what I eat and what I don't, the fact is that the weight isn't going to come off unless I exercise.
This is me, totally. If I watch what I eat but don't exercise, I can prevent weight *gain,* but I don't lose anything. To that end, today I went to The Running Spot, which is a store whose focus is (surprise) runners. Well, and also walkers, etc. Basically, they know feet very well, and it's really the best place to go when you want to be sure you have shoes that will let you work out w/o causing pain or lasting damage.
They look at the wear pattern on your old sneakers, they watch how you walk (or run), they look at the structure of your bare foot, and then they measure your foot with all the seriousness and intent of the Bomb Squad defusing a bomb. I spent $90 on a pair of shoes that feel like heaven. And worth every penny. Thank goodness for Xmas money, though, because $90 for sneakers always makes me gasp.
The good news is that with the dietary change and the thyroid meds and the supplements I'm taking, I finally can move enough TO exercise. So yay to that.
Yay, indeed. More endorphins in 2007! That's my motto.
Everyone, have wonderful evenings tonight; be safe, be well, and be here tomorrow.
Love to you all, and thanks for a wonderful 2006.
Totally worth it, Steph. It was a wrench the first time I did that, but I've never - will never - bought running shoes any other way again.
Throwing a sit down dinner party is hard. I can only fit upto 8 at the table - I had 6 with a possible 7. someone just canceled - for a really good reason that I wouldn't wish on anyone- and now we are 4 maybe 5. I think I need to be able to sit 10.
My NYE plans are pretty plain. Right now I'm cooking black eyed peas -- a recipe from a cookbook I got for Christmas. Tomorrow I'm going to make turnip greens (also from the cookbook) and corn bread, from a mix because I don't have eggs, milk, or butter to make it from scratch.
So tomorrow I'll feast on Hoppin' John and watch more dvds. Right now I'm watching The Closer, which I'd never seen before but it's pretty good.
