How is GF's family doing?
Her dad just finished his second round of treatment (some experimental thing - not chemo). We're going over there for Christmas Eve and Christmas. No other family because his count is low. They're still looking for a bone marrow match. All things considered, everyone is doing pretty well, thanks.
Hec, what is Cheerwine?
As GC notes it's sort of between a cherry cola and Dr. Pepper. Very tasty. I realized belatedly that I hadn't gotten Emmett his traditional two six packs of rare sodas from Yum, so we snatched a six pack of various soda pop at BevMo. Also got Green River and Bubble Up and his annual bottle of Jolt. JZ got her favorite, Virgil's Root Beer.
Home from the hair salon. The stylist didn't quite do what I asked of him, but I think I like the results anyway. Much shorter than I had expected.
It's a Christmas miracle!
Wow, the thread was busier today than I expected. There was stuff. I wanted to hug people. Especially those involved in traveling or preparing for Christmas...so stressful.
We went to a KU basketball game today. Pictures are here [link] if anyone wants to see my family hanging out at the game.
Oh, and I heard from my professor of the class I finished this semester. I got an A on my final project, which bumped my B in the class up to an A-.
To say it's a Christmas Miracle would be an understatement. I am thrilled beyond measure.
Congrats, VW!

It looks splendid. You have a great face to carry a short, hip haircut. Your hairdresser did good.
Thanks, javachick! I'm still very excited.
Yay good babies and good haircuts and good grades!
ETA: Kristin will probably kill me when she finds out I got this and she is stuck on Southwest.
No, no. It is the holiday season and I shall instead be happy for you. The fact that I'm on the tarmac and have now only one quick hop to Tucson left in this trip is making that happiness easier. However, as we've been sitting here ten minutes after landing and are apparently still waiting for a gate, the good cheer may be short-lived.
Wow, all kinds of Christmas miracles! Our little party went well, everyone was nice, polite, friendly, and seemed to enjoy their gifts. There were no dud gifts, or "funny" ones that were actually stupid, just thoughtfulness and good food and everyone wants my chili recipe, and I don't feel like hiding from the humans for the next year because of it, which is a very nice little Christmas miracle.
Add yay good parties to my list!
Also? I have become a total cold weather wuss and am freezing as I dart outside to the terminal shuttle to take me to my connecting flight. It's probably 40 degrees.
Such
a wuss.
Which is better, do you think - the nifty assortment of scented candles acquired over the course of five different work-related holiday parties, or the large number of cute gift bags which are still in reusable condition?
