Cindy, if I've interpreted correctly, I need to tell you to stop trying to cook yourself. Ouch.

Yay for upgrades! Boo for having to listen to asshats next to you on a plane.

The baby is zonkered now as JZ slow dances her around the living room to Christmas songs.

Aww.

Deena, your luck wish worked! My grocery store trip was much like any other, with no line waiting and not too much extra crowdedness. And for sure no spilt wine or busybodies yelling at me.

Now I'm watching Scrubs on Comedy Central and eating formerly frozen taquitos.

What is even happening?

Waltzes, right?
Whee!

Yes, Jen, I was very dumb. The finger is no worse for the wear. Who needs finger prints, anyhow. They're just tools of the man.

I am loving the mental picture of JZ and Matilda waltzing around the living room.

Hec, what is Cheerwine?

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Home from the hair salon. The stylist didn't quite do what I asked of him, but I think I like the results anyway. Much shorter than I had expected.

Cheerwine is yummy cherry flavored cola. I remember it fondly from my youth in the South.

We have finished wrapping, baked and decorated brown sugar cookies, made one last grocery run (and it wasn't even bad), and played a ton of Tetris. Good Saturday!

ETA: And my sweetie is making chili! Woot!

ETAA: And we watched a ton of Bewitched season 1. That is the cutest show ever. I love Elizabeth Montgomery and Agnes Moorehead!

Thanks, Glamcookie. Your day sounds fun. How is GF's family doing?

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Actually not so much a waltz (overly bouncy in her current agitated state) as that gently swaying slowdance the eighth graders at my middle school used to do to "Stairway To Heaven."

She's feeding more or less successfully and giving very intent eye contact. I'm getting wrecked with teh love.

Her dad just finished his second round of treatment (some experimental thing - not chemo). We're going over there for Christmas Eve and Christmas. No other family because his count is low. They're still looking for a bone marrow match. All things considered, everyone is doing pretty well, thanks.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Hec, what is Cheerwine?

As GC notes it's sort of between a cherry cola and Dr. Pepper. Very tasty. I realized belatedly that I hadn't gotten Emmett his traditional two six packs of rare sodas from Yum, so we snatched a six pack of various soda pop at BevMo. Also got Green River and Bubble Up and his annual bottle of Jolt. JZ got her favorite, Virgil's Root Beer.

It's a Christmas miracle!

Mostly lurking...

Wow, the thread was busier today than I expected. There was stuff. I wanted to hug people. Especially those involved in traveling or preparing for Christmas...so stressful.

We went to a KU basketball game today. Pictures are here [link] if anyone wants to see my family hanging out at the game.

Oh, and I heard from my professor of the class I finished this semester. I got an A on my final project, which bumped my B in the class up to an A-.

To say it's a Christmas Miracle would be an understatement. I am thrilled beyond measure.

Congrats, VW!

It looks splendid. You have a great face to carry a short, hip haircut. Your hairdresser did good.
